“Living With Fractions” is a 90 minute video designed to help math students understand not only basic fraction arithmetic, but also the basic definition of fraction numbers themselves.
The video consists of 22 clearly defined sections where each section uniquely identifies a specific fraction component. The first several sections define fraction numbers and their properties in order to give the student a solid foundation in understanding the concept of fraction numbers. The next several section describe in detail the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fraction numbers using colored denominators to clearly separate the numerators from the denominators in order to help the student better understand the examples.
Each arithmetic section is followed by two word problems to further strengthen real world knowledge of how fractions operate in the real world.
